Digital Decoration 101 webinar was hosted by SignWarehouse Product Manager Jerry Barrax and presented by Sawgrass Manager of Consumer Education Jimmy Lamb.
This webinar presents an introduction to the opportunities in digital decoration. Jimmy shows how the use of digital decoration technologies can supplement a screen print or embroidery business. Digital decoration constitutes a great startup opportunity for someone looking for an inexpensive and efficient way to create custom imprinted gifts and apparel.
Jimmy’s unique insights gained over 20 years in the business gave attendees new perspectives on how small format processes like dye sublimation, ChromaBlast cotton decoration, and heat applied graphics compare to things like direct to garment and screen print. Each option is presented objectively with its pros and cons so attendees can make intelligent decisions about the best choice for their businesses.
Specifically Jimmy covers the process for ChromaBlast decoration of cotton garments, how dye sublimation can be used to decorate apparel and hard substrates, and how vinyl cutters can be used to supplement these technologies and create vivid imprints on dark garments.
Watched the video on sublimation equipment. I do graphics and t shirts as a side line. That being said most of my orders for shirts are 12 to 24 at a time. I have been using the heat set material for these customers for fours now. I would like to get way for the cut and weed process that the heat set involves. I do like the feel of the heatset as it does not have that plastic feel to it, and love the duribility of it. I have shirts that I made for myself four years ago that still look great. Is there a way to get a sample of a sublimation to see what it looks and feels like. I would like to een provide you with on of the designs that I do for a car club. Do about two dozen shirts a month for them. Also size wise I would need to be able to scale the design up on some shirts, they have some 3x and 5x sizes.
Would like to learn more about this to see if that i the direction I would like to go.
